Modern Slavery Statement
1st January 2025 to 31st December 2025
This statement is set down pursuant to section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and covers the financial year from 1st January 2025 to 31st December 2025. The scope of this statement is the UK-based entity Techdow Pharma England Limited (TECHDOW).
TECHDOW is affiliated with the global healthcare company, Techdow Pharma and is part of the Hepalink Group of companies.
All of our employees, suppliers and contractors must be familiar with our code of conduct and our commitment to eliminating modern slavery from within our supply chain and operations.
Our Business
Our focus is on medicines designed to treat and prevent thromboembolic diseases. Every year in the United Kingdom, venous thromboembolism requires treatment in around 1 to 2 people per every thousand people.
In 2025, TECHDOW delivered 29 million doses of medicine to the UK healthcare system.
TECHDOW is based on a single site at the Surrey Technology Centre in Guildford, and has thirteen employees. We are a licensed pharmaceutical wholesaler and UK affiliate for our global organisation, managing the wholesaling, marketing, post-market service support, drug safety monitoring and engagement of UK subcontractors.
Our medicines and raw materials are primarily produced or sourced through our Hepalink and Techdow Pharma Group manufacturing facilities in Shenzhen, China, with further manufacturing steps relating to importation, certification and testing conducted in Poland, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. TECHDOW also partners with a limited network of UK-based external contract logistics service partners operating in the UK and European Union, for the transportation and storage of our medicines under tightly controlled conditions, and final delivery to our customers.
Our Commitment
TECHDOW believes in acting with integrity and is committed to protecting the human rights and fundamental dignity of our employees, customers, contractors and suppliers.
We remain vigilant for the eleven indicators of modern slavery, as published by International Labor Organisation (ILO). TECHDOW are committed to management of risks and ensuring our supply chain is transparent, resilient and free from modern slavery and corruption.
TECHDOW requires our employees, suppliers and contractors to:
Comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding employment practices, benefits, health and safety, modern slavery and anti-discrimination.
Promote a safe environment and a workplace free of discrimination, harassment or bullying.
Avoid the use of child or forced labour in any form.
Pay fair wages and conditions in line with legislation including adequate rest periods and leave.
Treat all employees, contractors and suppliers with dignity and respect.
Oppose modern slavery in all forms.
Monitor supply chains on a continual basis for compliance with the above requirements and promptly investigate any suspected non-compliances.
To embed ethical integrity throughout our supply chain, our employees and logistics partners must undergo our annual modern slavery training, which forms part of our wider sustainability framework. The training defines modern slavery in accordance with the ILO modern slavery indicators, identifies groups more vulnerable to modern slavery and looks at modern slavery prevalence in different parts of the world. It also defines the actions that TECHDOW takes to address modern slavery within our business operations and wider supply chain, and provides whistleblowing contact information for individuals who wish to report a potential breach of modern slavery standards and requirements. While our training for supplier organisations is particularly targeted at senior personnel and any key contacts (for example client or project managers), it is deliberately produced in a sharable, online format and wider sharing of our training within supplier organisations is encouraged. To date, no concerns have been raised within the TECHDOW supply chain and no reports of modern slavery have been made by any entity or individual.
Our contracts include modern slavery provisions for every TECHDOW supplier and contractor. The provisions require the supplier or contractor to confirm that they comply with human rights and discrimination law, agree to protect employees and contractors from the ILO’s eleven indicators of modern slavery and to notify TECHDOW immediately in the event of discovering any violation of human rights or discrimination law, or any evidence of modern slavery, either within their own workforce, or their contractors / suppliers.
To ensure sustainability and respect for human rights are rigorously built into our governance and introduced into every aspect of our day-to-day operations, every TECHDOW policy and procedure contains a section on sustainability, which must include consideration of modern slavery, as applied to the specific process or system being described in the procedure. We have specific policies on Ethical Procurement Practices, Anti-Bribery, Malpractice &Maladministration, Protection of Personal Data, Human Rights and Diversity & Inclusion. Our Company Handbook and compulsory annual training programme set clear standards for the ethical behaviours and conduct expected of our employees. Key policies and procedures also provide measures such as disciplinary and dismissal for failure to comply with procedures in key ethical areas. All policies and procedures are reviewed every two years as a minimum.
TECHDOW is committed to ensuring the highest levels of ethical integrity of its supply chain, including the identification and elimination of forced labour and, specifically, the ILO indicators of free and unforced labour.
Key Performance Indicators
To ensure our organisation and supply chain remain free from modern slavery, TECHDOW uses the following key performance indicators, which are reviewed quarterly by our Board and senior management team:
No reports received via whistleblowing contacts (from internal or external parties)
No incidence, suspicions or evidence of modern slavery raised during TECHDOW evaluation of suppliers and contractors
No unacceptable or intolerable risks identified in relation to modern slavery as part of TECHDOW risk management activities
No incidence, suspicions or evidence of modern slavery identified during independent audits of TECHDOW
No arising media coverage of indications of modern slavery for entities within the TECHDOW mapped supply chain
To date, no reports, suspicions or concerns about modern slavery have been raised or identified within the TECHDOW supply chain.
Modern Slavery Risk Assessment
In line with international guidance, we consider heightened risk areas in relation to modern slavery, which include:
Use of low-skilled or migrant workforce
Use of workforce intermediaries and use of third-parties
Dangerous/undesirable work
Long or non-transparent supply chains
Raw materials such as glass, metals and minerals used in the Inhixa administration device
Country-specific risks such as poverty, conflict, low availability of education, poor human rights standards, high prevalence of child labour and general prevalence of modern slavery
Country-Specific Considerations
TECHDOW proactively monitors international risk indicators to ensure we maintain high ethical standards across every region in which we operate. The Walkfree Global Slavery Index and information published by ILO are consulted when considering risks specific to countries and regions.
In Poland, although the national prevalence rate is estimated at 5.5 per 1,000 people, the specific context of our Polish scientific service partners greatly reduces exposure to risk. These partners are privately owned, office-based organisations with highly educated and skilled teams. Our onsite audit in 2025, supported by an ethics-qualified auditor, confirmed strong practices, with no issues identified.
The Czech Republic has a national estimated prevalence of 4.2 per 1,000 people. However, our Czech scientific service provider operates in a professional, specialised sector that requires advanced qualifications and technical expertise. This environment significantly lowers the likelihood of labour exploitation. Again, no concerns were identified during our review.
Our key manufacturing partners - Hepalink and Techdow Group - are based in Shenzhen, China, where the estimated prevalence is 4.0 per 1,000 people. Despite broader national risk factors, our operations are situated within a modern, technologically advanced industry that demands a highly skilled workforce and strong quality systems. TECHDOW conducted comprehensive onsite audits of both facilities in 2025, alongside a senior leadership visit, and no issues of concern were found.
In the United Kingdom, the estimated prevalence is 1.8 per 1,000 people. Our UK service providers specialise in pharmaceutical warehousing and logistics, an industry with strong regulatory oversight and established quality frameworks. Although temporary workers can be more vulnerable in some sectors, our partners hold independent EcoVadis bronze certification, and TECHDOW carried out detailed onsite audits across four locations in 2025 and early 2026. These confirmed good practice throughout, with no concerns reported.
The Techdow Group’s European regional hub in the Netherlands operates in a country with an estimated prevalence of 0.8 per 1,000 people one of the lowest in our supply chain. Our 2024 remote audit confirmed strong governance and controls, and we will build on this with a planned re-audit in 2026.
General Considerations
Across both the United Kingdom and our global operations, Hepalink and Techdow benefit from a highly educated, highly skilled workforce that operates within robust, well-established, and tightly regulated systems, policies, and procedures.
We remain committed to full compliance with the ILO Forced Labour Convention, 1930 (No. 29), and the Abolition of Forced Labour Convention, 1957 (No. 105). As part of a unified global group, we also benefit from enhanced transparency, shared standards, and close day-to-day collaboration across teams and regions. Together, these factors contribute to our confidence that the risk of modern slavery within both our UK and global workforce remains low.
TECHDOW recognises, however, that our exposure to risk may be higher when engaging with external partners. To ensure the highest levels of ethical integrity, we conduct regular, structured assessments of our direct suppliers and business partners to verify compliance, uphold human rights, and maintain responsible practices across our supply chain. As part of our commitment to consistency and transparency, these assessments also cover Hepalink and Techdow group companies with which TECHDOW has direct relationships.
Both TECHDOW and the wider global Techdow Group undergo independent annual audits. These comprehensive reviews cover our financial practices, governance frameworks, and environmental and social governance performance. We are pleased to report that no concerns have been raised through these independent evaluations, reinforcing our commitment to responsible, ethical, and transparent operations.
In 2025, TECHDOW continued its proactive and voluntary participation in the Modern Slavery Assessment Tool (MSAT), strengthening our commitment to safeguarding workers and minimising the risk of exploitation across our supply chains. Our dedication to responsible practices resulted in an MSAT score of 71%, placing TECHDOW firmly within the “Low Risk” category (the most favourable rating available).
Building on this strong foundation, TECHDOW remains committed to consistently applying the MSAT throughout 2026. Our goal is to maintain our “Low Risk” classification and further enhance our MSAT score, demonstrating our ongoing drive for continuous improvement and ethical leadership.
This engagement will continue, as will our commitment to strengthening the modern slavery provision within our company systems, processes and activities.
TECHDOW, therefore, believes that the risk of slavery within its operations and supply chain is low and that risk areas are subject to suitable levels of direct and independent monitoring.
